Whether it\u2019s going for a brief walk down your block, taking time for a longer weekend hike, or doing 15 minutes of yoga at the end of your day, physical movement helps your body create endorphins, which are hormones that help you feel better. Swimming a few laps or going for a jog can be meditative, allowing you to calm your thoughts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meditating.<\/strong> Simply put, meditation is a practice in which one works on being mindful, aware of one\u2019s body, or focusing and clearing one\u2019s mind. Even 10-15 minutes a day can help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3193656\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you reduce stress<\/a>, and may even help reduce your risk of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5721815\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heart problems<\/a>. There are many apps, both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/health\/mind\/best-meditation-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paid<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realsimple.com\/health\/mind-mood\/best-free-meditation-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free<\/a>, that can guide you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enjoying.<\/strong> Listen to music that you enjoy. Step outside and bask in the sunshine. Take time to do a hobby that brings you joy, whether it\u2019s woodworking, playing a sport with friends, or whipping up something in the kitchen. Pet a <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/29882342\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">furry friend<\/a>.
